Andrew Kreps Gallery – Through carbon footprint analysis created a program to maintain a green office and gallery culture with emphasis on elements that are specific to the retail art business: shipping and packaging of art work and the recycling and waste associated with it for collectors as well as art fairs, construction materials and refuse due to installations, national and international travel, and daily energy use. Strategic recommendations for maintaining sustainable solutions were made with an eye towards growth.
Naturally Delicious Caterers – Outlined a sustainability program uniquely suited to the needs of a dynamic event production company including advanced composting and alternative solutions for food scraps and leftovers, waste reduction associated with canned goods and disposable delivery items, transportation alternatives and fuel savings for daily deliveries and events, building and office renovation for long term energy savings, and communication with stakeholders as connected with branding.
Oyster Week – Sustainability advisor for annual week-long oyster festival including sponsorship of two Hudson Harbor Oyster Cruises that highlighted points of interest in the Oyster History of NYC with celebrity chef Rob McCue, oyster shell collection at Stone Street Oyster Festival for oyster reef restoration on Long Island through the Billion Oyster Program with the NY Harbor School, and participation by sustainable BRGuest Restaurants.
Non-Profits
National Audubon Society – Conducted a carbon footprint analysis for all Audubon offices, satellite offices and Nature Centers and specified related solutions for energy savings with energy efficient bulbs, recycled interiors, and water saving technologies. Waste reduction management, localizing the supply chain, transportation alternatives, and carbon sequestration through their land-holdings were also addressed.
The Nature Conservancy – Conducted a carbon footprint analysis for The Nature Conservancy’s New York City office, which included daily energy use and habits, transportation associated with their summer intern program and employee business trips, waste and recycling of all office materials. Related sustainable solutions in these areas were outlined with direction for all offices nation-wide in mind.
Education
Sarah Lawrence College – Created a comprehensive official environmental sustainability policy and ongoing program that includes but is not limited to advanced energy efficiency measures and alternative energy solutions for existing and new buildings, retrofits and space reorganization of older buildings, waste and paper reduction, expansion of sustainable living communities, and additional green roofs.
National
Strassburger Meats – Conducted a carbon footprint analysis for a national meat distribution company to highlight emissions with recommendations specifically targeting transportation and packaging from providers in the mid-west and locally, supply chain, daily energy use and habits, and sustainability training for the staff.
Suzy Sirloin, Inc. – Created a program for a distributor of local and natural meats for sustainable procurement practices, transportation and fuel efficiency for all client deliveries, resource conscious packaging, engaging local providers, and maintaining sustainability throughout the expansion process.
